Wheelchair Alliance (WA) is wanting to speak to those who have been using wheelchairs in the last 5 years to take part in research about their experience of having and accessing a wheelchair. We are really interested in gaining insight into the lived experience of wheelchair users to better understand the impacts of access to an appropriate wheelchair for individuals, their families, and society as a whole, and highlight opportunity areas for providing better access to appropriate wheelchairs. To do this, we are keen to speak to a diverse range of people, across a spread of ages, backgrounds, and circumstances.
This form is a chance for us to hear about your experiences of using a wheelchair. This information will be really important in advancing our research and helping us understand the needs people have.
We are then really keen to speak to some people in more depth in the individual’s home, to find out about the ways in which a person’s wheelchair does or does not work for them, within the context of their everyday life. Those who take part will be paid £75, and this involves an in-person interview lasting around 2-3 hours, after which we will conduct some shorter follow-up interviews with some of you to hear more about your experience.
Please fill out the form below to provide us with details of your experience of having a wheelchair and register your interest in the research. A researcher will contact you with further information and see if you are able to take part. All the information you provide will be completely anonymous, and used only as part of this research. We very much look forward to hearing from you!
