Summer Toy Swap (plus dinner!) RSVP
The SURPAS Family Committee and Parents in Biosciences are excited to invite you to our next kid-friendly event - a toys/books swap at the park! The toy/book swap is aimed for ages 10 and under.

Who: Postdocs from all departments and grad students in biosciences (defined broadly) with children or expecting children
When: Saturday, August 27th, 2022 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Where: EV playground https://goo.gl/maps/mDK3BauFTuzex1ac8 (You can park on Stanford Ave or by the Madera Grove Children Center)
What: Please have each child bring 2 or more toys/books in working condition to exchange! If this is inconvenient for your family don't worry about it - we are currently holding a toys/books drive and should have plenty to go around. During the event, we will have pizza, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone. So come hungry!

Details on the toy exchange:
Each child will receive 2 tickets at the beginning of the event, and tickets can be used to exchange for toys/books from other families. Each family can decide how many tickets their toys are worth, and any tickets earned can be used to exchange for more toys OR donate to another family. We would like to support families expecting babies, families new to Stanford, families on a single income, and families with multiple children. Your generosity will help us provide tickets to families that are unable to bring toys/books to the event. We will supply extra toys and books so that all families can leave with at least 2 items.

If you are a family that is expecting babies, new to Stanford, on a single income, or with multiple children (or any other situation that makes it inconvenient to bring toys), you don't need to bring any items! We are currently doing a toy/book drive so you can take part our event too!

You are welcome to donate toys without participating in the event. Please contact us at surpas.familycommittee@gmail.com for more details.

COVID precautions: This event will be outdoors. Masks are not required. However, please do not come if you have been exposed to COVID or have COVID-like symptoms. We will provide hand sanitizer before dinner and sanitizing wipes for the toy exchange.
