CONDITIONS FOR DUAL IMMERSION PLACEMENT

Enrollment in the Dual Immersion Program is not guaranteed.

If the child lives outside of East Elementary boundaries, an In-District transfer must be approved prior to your child starting at East Elementary.

It is the parent's responsibility to provide transportation to and from the school if the student lives outside of East Elementary boundaries.

The first year of immersion can be frustrating. Students struggle with the language, and parents worry about their child falling behind. Over time the student will become comfortable and capable in all aspects of the program. Few students will struggle academically.

For the program to have a profound impact on the child's learning, parent commitment is necessary. Research clearly shows that commitment to the program brings excellent academic results.
