AP and IB Courses

If you are taking an AP or IB course for the first time, you may only take one in grade 11. 

To be placed in an AP or IB course, you will need to request a current teacher approve you on the "teacher recommendations spreedsheet" for the course your are requesting below.

Health Opportunities & Physical Education/ HOPE: Hope is required to graduate on the 24 credit diploma. This  may be met a variety of ways. Please indicate how you will meet this requirement. It is not required for the accelerated 18 credit diploma.   *
OJT- On the Job Training-Leave school early for employment and earn high school credits doing so.

A student with a "legitimate" job can participate in OJT. This includes 1 campus class daily and then the student may leave school early 1 period for every 5 hours a week they routinely work. 

For example: a student working 15 hours a week could have their school day reduced 3 periods for OJT and earn 3.00 elective credits.

Dual Enrollment at Wilton Simpson Technical College: 

Students may attend Wilton College through Dual Enrollment/DE for FREE in grades 11 & 12. 

To qualify,  students must be on track to graduate with credits and have a 2.00 GPA.  

If interested, please refer to your counselor's Band announcements for the application to apply for Fall. 

If accepted, you would leave SHS 2-3 class periods early.
