Hi, Allegra here from
The Gathering. Thanks for your interest in taking part in my interview series, exploring ways of living outside societal expectations. With these interviews, I'm hoping to demonstrate that different ways of living are possible, and more achievable than people might think. I'd like to encourage readers to question the idea that there is any one "right" way to live, or a particular way that things "should" be done. Perhaps we'll inspire others to lean into their own dreams of a different path, feeling more empowered to take a leap. Or maybe we'll just open some minds to accepting that it's perfectly valid for others to choose a different approach to their own. Either way, I'm grateful that you're part of this journey.
Answer the questions below and I will use these to create a post to be published as part of the monthly Life Outside the Box series on The Gathering. I will send you the post to check over before it goes live, so you will get chance to make any changes and be sure you're happy with it going public before anyone else sees it.
The questions are intended as prompts and jumping-off points for you to share your experience and learnings, so feel free to answer as much or as little for each one as you like, and to go as "off topic" for each question as you want to!
The one house rule
The Gathering is a safe space for everyone. We don't tolerate hate speech, discrimination, prejudice or shaming of ANY kind.
We aim to celebrate different ways of being and living, but we recognise that any way, any approach, any beliefs, preferences, culture, attitudes and lives are just ONE option, and we respect others. We recognise that what works for us won't necessarily work for anyone else. This space exists to reject the word "should", which means not thinking that others should live and think like us any more than we want to be told we should live and think like anyone else.
Any interviews that don't respect this rule won't be included in the series.
