Help prep Monroe Ave before the eclipse

Thousands of visitors are expected for the total eclipse on April 8th. We want to make a good impression when they show up in our neighborhood!

The Upper Monroe Neighborhood Association (UMNA) is joining forces with all the other neighborhood groups and businesses along Monroe Avenue to tidy up our “Main Street” before the eclipse.

  • When:  Saturday, March 30th starting at NOON

  • Duration: Only one hour (Noon until 1:00 pm)

  • Where:  Corner of Rosedale Street & Monroe Avenue

  • What:  Walking along Monroe Ave. picking up trash & debris. Some of those who have signed up will be doing light spring cleanup of our community gardens along Monroe Ave. at the same time.

  • FREE LUNCH FOR VOLUNTEERS AT 1:30 pm in front of 585 Monroe Avenue.*

*This effort is being organized by the Monroe Avenue Revitalization Coalition (MARC). Supplies and lunch will be provided by the City of Rochester .

This effort will not replace the City of Rochester's "Clean Sweep" scheduled for May 4, 2024.
