For 8 and under swimmers, an IM relays mean 1 swimmer will do a 25 back (a 25 is 1 time across), another swimmer will do a 25 breast, another will do 25 fly, and another will do 25 free. For 8 and over swimmers, it is the same strokes but the swimmer will do a 50 instead of a 25. Coaches will only choose swimmers to do a stroke they are confident the swimmer can do. When in doubt-let them do it! Coaches will determine appropriate strokes/eligibility.
