The pre-employment training program is a 12-week course, where participants will be paid $16/hour and are expected to have at least 80% course attendance.

The program will focus on modules in food service and safety, WHMIS, kitchen skills, and mindfulness.

We want to bridge the gap between the demands of employers and the ambitions of Iqalummiut looking for stability in the workforce. The goal is to decrease the level of underemployment among Iqalummiut by meeting the strong demand for local talent that is currently being met by out-of-territory hires.

We require participants to be ready for work at least 80% each week. A week is 4 or 5 days, seven hours each day. Are you able to meet that requirement?
We ask participants to volunteer for a 3-hour lunch shift before the program starts. Please let us know when you might be available.
