Contact Information Kickstart Scheme
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. This is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs and aims to create hundreds and thousands of new, fully funded jobs across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The first placements are likely to be available from November. Funding will cover for each job placement:
-100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week the associated employer National Insurance contributions
-Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
-There will also be extra funding to support young people to build their experience and help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart Scheme funded job.
-Please be aware that up to £1,500 will be given at the beginning of the placement to support the role, the grant for the wages will be paid every month in arrears.

In order to make sure you are fully compliant with our Kickstarter Scheme we will train and develop the candidates. You will be required to provide 6 months of employment/work placement. Can you provide this? *

If you wish to carry on and employ these kickstarters you will need to interview them officially for the role. If you do not wish to further employ the candidates then you will be required to provide them with a reference and an exit interview. Can you provide this? *

If you're eligible you could receive an initial grant which will cover the wage for 25 hours per week. When you have confirmed the young person has started work, do you agree to put them on the company's PAYE to trigger the payment? *

In order to access the £1500 grant available for each candidate, you will need to agree to the following. You will agree to incorporate £750 from the grant through Beauty City International & Holt Green Training for the young person's qualifications and training in order to comply with the training requirements, making the young people more employable after the 6-month work trial. *

Courses we will be providing the candidates with are, English and maths Functional Skills, customer service, employability, and business admin, subject to eligibility. Any specialist qualifications may incur an additional charge. *

From your £1500 grant, £750 is for you to provide any equipment, resources, support, or further training required for the young person's personal development. This will be subject to evidence such as quotes, invoices, and any further documentary evidence. *

DWP may contact you or the young person during the job placement to check what employability support has been offered. This is to make sure the young person has the best experience from the scheme. *

We need to know that job placements are new jobs and do not replace existing or planned vacancies or cause existing employees, apprentices, or contractors to lose or reduce their employment. *
