In our current age of uncertainty, the internet has become a pillar of our education system. Students forced online by COVID-19 need education on how to navigate this new reality and use the internet as a way to create positive change. In order to meet this need, the Institute for Civic Organizing (TICO) is launching our Program in Digital Democracy and Internet Civics, in partnership with the Stanford Program on Democracy and the Internet. The Program entails a Grassroots Digital Playbook and a complementary certificate course in Internet Organizing and Civics. We engage all three pillars of the Universal Design for Learning Guidelines to empower individuals with the necessary tools to independently run campaigns. By providing free resources focused on grassroots organizing, we aim to support the most under-represented students throughout the world, those who strive to create real change in policy but do not currently have the mentorship, knowledge, or resources to do so themselves. Sign-up to be notified when The Grassroots Digital Playbook and Internet Organizing Civics Course are released!
