Please complete this form for your son to register him for the 2028 Virtual Study Skills Workshop starting on Tuesday, July 9th and ending on Tuesday, July 30th. The workshop is designed and taught by Prep Academic Counselor, Dr. William J. Gillespie, Psy.D.
Program Description:
Learn ways to improve time management skills, focus on good study habits, how to self-advocate with teachers/moderators and more with the Class of 2028 Virtual Study Skills Workshop, taught by Prep Counselor Dr. Bill Gillespie! Dr. Gillespie will post a virtual session for Class of 2028 students that will be a combination of lecture, Q&A, asks/assignments, etc. These sessions are pre-recorded and posted each Tuesday and Thursday from July 9th to July 30th. Students can access them at any time once posted.
Dr. Gillespie will also be available for one-on-one meetings with students and parents.
During the course of the Virtual Study Skills Workshop, students will learn:
Time Management
Analysis of Academic Strengths and Weaknesses
Good Study Habits
Goal setting
Concentration
Good Note-Taking
Completion of Assignments
Review of Daily Notes
Organizational Skills
Motivation
How to approach teachers and coaches (self representation)
Specific St. Joe's Prep student resources
Students will need access to a computer or laptop, access to their Prep email account (access to be granted in May), a dedicated notebook, and access to Google Classroom for the workshop. Dr. Gillespie will invite registered students to the Google Classroom via their Prep email account. Students will receive their Prep email account in May.
Program Cost:
The cost of the program is $80 and will be added to your Smart Tuition account.
