Thank you for your interest in participating as a madrina/padrino (mentor) to the Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT), Latina Labs Virtual Program for middle school students. This is our third year virtual program of Latina Labs.
You are committing yourself to participate as a mentor in four consecutive
Saturdays (June 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th) from 10:45 am to 1pm EST. We will give preference to those with science backgrounds to participate as a mentor and help the students with their hands-on activities virtually and inspire them in breakout rooms. The goal of this virtual program is to expose the girls to various scientific topics with hands-on activities. Deadline to submit your Latina Labs STEAM Program is May 15th.
Please also mark your calendars for
July 15th as we will have our end of the program celebration in person, where certificates and goodies will be given to the participants who have completed the program. This will be held in Washington D.C. (place to be determined and that is metro accessible). During this event, we will meet and network with the participants, parents, LLT board members and all volunteers in-person.
We will accept 36 participants from the D.C., MD, and VA area, so please help us spread the word about this great opportunity. This program is completely FREE of charge.
As a madrina/padrino, if you are local, you are expected to help distribute the toolkit boxes on May 20th and 27th.
If you have any questions, please email Dr. Teresa Ramirez at

Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
