TEDxWilmington Speaker Application
Thank you for your interest in being a speaker at TEDxWilmington!

Before you apply, you MUST read the book "TED Talks: The Official TED Guide to Public Speaking" by Chris Anderson. This book is available on Amazon. Please pay close attention to Chapter 4: The Throughline. You will be required to answer what the throughline of your proposed TEDx talk will be in this application. Being clear on your throughline will make a difference in how you present your talk, how you convey your idea, and what the listeners takeaway from your talk.

The following APPLICATION CANNOT BE PARTIALLY SAVED. You will need to complete the application in its entirety at one time. Please review the entire form and make sure you have enough time to fill it out before you start.

There are a few things to know before starting:

- Always say TEDx; never TED when referring to your talk or TEDxWilmington.

- Your talk must be 12 minutes or less. While a TED or TEDx talk can be up to 18 minutes long, TEDxWilmington has decided to limit most talks to 12 minutes.

- Your "Idea Worth Spreading" must be your own and may not address political/religious agendas or directly promote a company, business, or product.

- You will be required to sign a release form prepared by TED.

- In this application, you will be required to submit a short video (1-2 minutes). Please record and upload this video to YouTube before you start this application.

- TEDxWilmington has a very rigorous process and includes many deadlines along the way. Please read the disclosure at the end of this application which has more details about the materials due.

Before starting your application, you must verify that your idea is within TEDx Content Guidelines.  To do this, please review the following link from TED:

- We strongly encourage you to visit www.TED.com and check out TED and TEDx talks that might have similar ideas to your proposed TEDx talk. Be prepared to share with us why your proposed talk is unique and different.

- Last, but not least, all applications must be completed by the speaker, and not a third party.
