Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of October 2023 at University of Melbourne (Parkville Campus)

Are you a keen student who has been involved in a global health project or work? Would you like to share about a community initiative or work experience you have involved in that focusses on improving population health?

Our conference theme this year revolves around the Natural Environment x Urban Social Ecosystems. Read this link for more info! https://www.changexunzipped.com/2023theme

At CxU 2023 Global Health student conference, we will be hearing from a range of experts in the field of climate change, OneHealth, built environment and social determinants of health to understand the impacts of these on human health.  While it is a privilege to hear from these experts, it is also inspiring to hear from peers. This is why we want to hear about what you have been doing and your experiences in working in real-world global health promotion. The aim is for you to inspire fellow student delegates of the potential opportunities and sectors they can be involved in to begin making a positive change to health of communities at local, national and international levels.

Format:

  • The Pecha-Kucha (Japanese for “Chit-Chat”) is a quick engaging format of information delivery
  • It involves creating a presentation with slides composed of only pictures. The presenter speaks for 20 seconds on each slide.
  • For the conference it is anticipated that you will be given maximum 5 minutes with 10-15 slides (one picture per slide)

Selection criteria:
  1. Demonstration of connection to either of Natural Environment, Built Environment or Social influences on Health [Desirable but not mandatory]
  2. Demonstration of innovation, breaking barriers to health, or collaboration of different teams
  3. Demonstration of a clear message/action that fellow delegates can implement/involve in to promote population health
  4. Ensuring that a mix of different topics and disciplines are selected
