We are looking for Austin families to host Youth Ambassador participants from September 6-15th, 2024 (Colombia & Ecuador) and January 24th - February 2nd, 2025 (Paraguay).
The Youth Ambassador Program is funded by the US Department of State - Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs, and it offers full scholarships so that the selected students and adult mentors can participate in educational and cultural activities, centered around leadership and community service.
Youth Participants are between the ages of 15 and 17 years old and adult mentors are 21+. The mentor role in the program is to serve as a resource, cultural bridge, capacity builder, and progress facilitator to the youth participants.
The program has been administered by World Learning and Amigos de las Américas for more than 10 years. This will be the second Youth Ambassador cohort to visit Austin! Previously, the program was conducted in the San Francisco Bay Area; Madison, WI; Washington, D.C.; Western Colorado; and even virtually in 2020 and 2021.
If you are interested in forming a part of this program and you believe your family able to provide a positive experience for a young leader from another country, we invite you to complete this form detailing your interest.
