Hornby High School Covid-19 Alert Level 3 whānau intentions
Kia ora Koutou
Thanks for your on-going support as we all try to make sense of these challenging times.
When the school re-opens at Alert Level 3 on Wednesday 29th April the Ministry of Education has informed us that the following principles need to be observed:
* You should keep your child at home.
* Only send your child/children to school if you need to.
* If your child health is compromised, keep her/him at home.
* If your child is sick keep him or her at home
* COVID-19 Level 3 Health and Safety conditions will be strictly enforced.
As you can imagine this will not be regular schooling! The learners who need to come to school will be cared for by staff from a 2m distance, but they will complete the same distance learning tasks as their peers who continue to stay home. The same staff members will also become part of each bubble and we will aim to ensure they remain consistent throughout this time.
Learners will need to be kept in a school "bubble" of no more than 10 students. They must stay in this bubble at all times and will not be able to mix with any other "bubble" at school. The library/learning commons and playground must remain closed and, dependent on numbers, we may have to have staggered start and finish times as well as break times. This is to minimise the chance of "bubbles" mixing. Siblings would be placed in the same bubble.
Please complete this survey by midday Thursday 23 April so we can determine how many of our learners need to attend school physically during Alert Level 3, and remember the over-riding principle: PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN AT HOME IF AT ALL POSSIBLE
Thanks
