MAA Riding Release

MAA Stable Guidelines

RIDER/any PARTICIPANT working with/around horses on campus acknowledges and understands the current guidelines. RIDER/PARTICIPANT agrees to be bound and abide by these guidelines. RIDER/PARTICIPANT acknowledges the guidelines include but are not limited to:

When riding any horses on Milo property, a properly fitted riding helmet must be worn at all times.

Anyone riding must have a riding release signed before riding a horse. If under 18 a guardian signature is required (if you are a current student, a guardian signature is required at any age).

All privately owned horses on Milo property can only be ridden by the contracted owner unless specific permission with signatures is given by: parent owner, student owner, rider, rider’s parent, and program director.

While enjoying trail riding on Milo property, students must be in a group of at least two individuals with a wrangler unless given permission by the horse director. If mixed gender, at least three individuals with an adult unless given permission by the horse director.

Close any gates behind you if they were closed when originally found (there are cows on property).

While working in the arena or round pen, students must have another individual present, they do not have to be riding. Gender rules of two same gender or three mixed gender with an adult applies.

Proper clothing and closed toed shoes or boots must be worn when riding or working with horses.

Arena riding is available outside of class times or scheduled maintenance (Please check with the program director before use).

When riding, you must clean the area of any manure your horse left behind. This applies when riding in the arena, aisleways, and any paved roads or parking areas.

ALL ball fields, staff lawns (without staff permission), oval and any other area designated by maintenance or grounds director is OFF LIMITS.

STABLE may revise these guidelines from time to time and RIDER agrees any revision shall have the same force and effect as current guidelines.
