Open Steer and Commercial Cattle Entry form
As part of the South Coast Beef School Steer Spectacular(TM), anyone is able to enter Steers into the Open Steer Challenge (led steer hoof and hook competition) and the Commercial Steer/Heifer Challenge (unled steer/heifer hoof and hook competition). Entries are charged at $150 per exhibit, and $100 per exhibit for members of the South Coast Beef Producers Association. You will be invoiced by SCBPA upon confirmation of your entry.

Please note - Open Steer Challenge entries are due by the 05/04/2024. Commercial Steer/Heifer Challenge entries are due by 24/04/2024

The following section is for those who wish to enter steers into the Open Steer Challenge (a led steer hoof and hook competition)
For the Open Steer Challenge there are three available classes:
  1. Light weight steers (Hot standard carcass weight between 180-210kg)
  2. Medium weight steers (Hot Standard Carcass weight between 210-245kg)
  3. Heavy weight steers (Hot standard carcass weight between 245-280kg) 
Steers entered into this competition may have their milk teeth ONLY. Any other dentition will be grounds for disqualification.
Steers entered into this competition must be male castrates ONLY. Any secondary sex characteristics will be grounds for disqualification. 

Further parameters around fat depth and cover, as well as other carcass parameters are available on the show schedule on the SCB School Steer Spectacular web page. If steers presented on site are deemed to not meet or it is anticipated by our members that they will not meet the required market specifications, your steers will be disqualified from the competition and you will be asked to remove them from the show site. Additionally, for this competition, if your steers are not adequately lead trained for live show, they will be disqualified from the Open Steer Challenge. At the discretion of the South Coast Beef Committee, on this instance, these steers may be transferred to competing in the un-led Commercial Steer/Heifer Challenge.

Please note that, due to the popularity of the led steer competitions, particularly amongst participating schools, you may be requested to withdraw some entrants based on space availability. We do however endeavour to included as many entered exhibits as possible in this competition.

Funds transfer for carcass sale details
As part of the competition, funds for the sale of carcasses are transferred back to the breeders/exhibitors. In the following section please outline your bank details for funds transfer from SCB for the sale of your entrants carcasses.
