CREAT Sow & Grow Grants
The Coalition for Racial Equity in Atlanta Theatre is excited to announce that applications are open for the third and final cycle of the Sow & Grow Grants for African-American/Black, Indigenous, Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian contributors to the metro-Atlanta theatre community.
Based on available funds, CREAT will award ten $500 grants this December. This total $5,000 award is made possible by the support of Kristen and Jordan Silton.
Though CREAT serves both Black and non-Black artists of color, we remain committed to true equity. As such, at least 70% of the awards will go to African-American/Black artists.
Previous Grantees are not eligible for awards this year.

Use of Funds:
Grant recipients may use the funds however they see fit. Though applicants are expected to state how they plan to use the funds, requiring a project or “product” is not the purpose for this grant. Do you just need time to get away and write? Do you need to do some self-care in order to usher in creative flow? These funds are for your sustainability as an artist. We seek to upend the grant rewarding system that prioritizes product over personal needs. You cannot be a healthy contributing member to the Atlanta theatre community if you are constantly worried about an end product.
