Please Review the following three options:
Your input is critical in determining if we can offer these options.
Option 1: Hybrid Model:
Based on the initial survey data, and the responses collected, it could be possible for students to attend school in-person, 4 hours each day. In a hybrid model, students may attend school every other day or daily based on the number of students who select this option. Students will also then participate in virtual instruction and/or complete other educational activities at home. In-person instruction will focus on math, reading, and ELA while specials (art, music, PE, library) will be provided as a combination of virtual and in-person. IF YOU SELECT THIS OPTION YOUR CHILD WILL ATTEND EITHER 4 HOURS DAILY OR 4 HOURS EVERY OTHER DAY. THE FINAL DECISION WILL BE BASED ON CLASSROOM CAPACITY AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS REGARDING SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Option 2: 100% Virtual Model:
Students do not attend in-person classes and do not enter the building at any time. Students have access to appropriate internet at home and receive their instruction via school assigned Chromebooks and other means. Students’ daily attendance is required as is participation in scheduled live online sessions. The use of photo or video tools will be needed as well. I understand that my child’s regularly assigned teacher may or may not be assigned as my child’s online instructor.
Option 3: Homeschooling:
A student is withdrawn from the Sodus Central School District and the parent submits a letter of intent to provide home instruction (State Law submission is August 1st). The parent is solely responsible for meeting the curriculum requirements without support from the District (with limited exceptions).
