Important factors in choosing a lab
In this short survey, we are interested in how students select a grad school lab and what, in retrospect, they feel is actually important for that selection.

In the first section, you will be asked about the considerations you had when selecting the lab you completed your first graduate studies in (whether that was a Master's or a Doctorate degree). Please try to remember what guided your decision at that time. If you are currently an undergraduate student you will be directed immediately to the second section, skipping this part.

In the second section, you will be asked what you believe are important factors for selecting a graduate studies lab. You will be asked to rate these factors in order, based on your current knowledge and experience.

Note that we refer to the head of a lab using the American terminology of PI (Principal Investigator).
