Albanian Media Institute (AMI), in cooperation with the Macedonian
Media Institute (MMI) will organize an exchange of young journalists from both
countries, that will take place in Tirana ( 18 - 21 September) and Skopje (16 - 19 October).
The exchange
includes the organization of workshops
for journalists on topics related to drivers of hate speech and divisive
narratives, the importance of fact-based narratives, and the need of
appropriate diversity representation in the media with a special emphasis on a
gender-balanced representation and a fight of sexism.
The
exchange will last 4 days, including travel days.
A total of 20 young journalists, from Albania and North Macedonia will participate in this activity. Eligible applicants are young journalists, aged 18 – 35 years old, working either as freelancers or in media outlets, and having a good command of English.
Note: Travel,
food and accommodation costs will be covered by the Albanian Media Institute.
These activities are supported by UNESCO and United Nations Regional initiative 'Youth for Inclusion, Equity and Trust', which aims to empower young people to engage in constructive narratives, strengthen intercultural dialogue, inclusion, gender equality and create mutual understanding and trust in the region .
