Diversity & Inclusion Travel Grant Application
Complete this form to be considered for a travel grant up to $2000 for attending the Planetary Data Training Workshop in Planetary Photogrammetry to be held on September 12th-15th at the Space Imagery Center, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. This grant is intended to cover costs associated with attendance such as airfare, personal vehicle mileage, lodging, and per diem. The grant is paid upon in-person completion of the workshop and submission of receipts, so recipients must be able to cover costs prior to attendance. You will be notified by September 1 of our decision.

This grant is intended to help lower barriers to participation in science. Selection will be made based on financial need, potential professional advancement, and membership in under-represented groups within planetary science and STEM in general. It is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, and early career post-doctoral researchers. To be eligible for this grant, you must attend the workshop in person, be affiliated with a US institution at the time of the workshop, and be traveling domestically.

As part of this application form, you will need to include a brief personal statement. The statement must not exceed 3000 characters (including spaces), and should describe your interest in this workshop, how it will impact and advance your career, and what obstacles you face or have faced to achieving your career goals. This statement must be submitted within this form, NOT emailed separately.

This application also requires at least one confidential letter of recommendation, with no more than one optional additional letter. This form requires you to provide the name(s) and email address(es) of your recommender(s), and provides instructions on how recommenders must submit their letter.

These travel grants are provided by the Planetary Data Training program, funded through NASA's Topical Workshops, Symposia, and Conferences (TWSC). The travel grants for this workshop are managed by the Space Imagery Center at the University of Arizona.
