Register here to participate in SIRG 2024, February 14-16 at NIWA-Lauder, Central Otago. 

We welcome presentations on all topics related to the cryosphere, including seasonal snow, glaciology, snow and glacier hydrology, glacial geomorphology, and sea ice, in Aotearoa New Zealand, Antarctica, and further afield.

Will you be attending the field trip on February 16?  Field trip will include a tour of the NIWA Lauder Atmospheric Research Station, exploration of local gold mining-era water races, and a tour of Clyde Dam hosted by Contact Energy.  Cost included in registration. Anticipated end of field trip is 1:45pm at Clyde dam (to accommodate ZQN departing flights from 4pm onwards).

Would you like to be connected to other groups to coordinate ride sharing?  This may include flying in/out of Queenstown Airport and/or driving from other locations on the South Island. We will connect everyone who responds "yes" on email on Jan 15 after registration closes. Please also proactively check out the rideshare sheet and populate it with your travel details.

Payment instructions will be sent after registration. 
Payment can be made either by credit card or invoice.

For 2024, registration fees are: 

  • Student (presenting): $0 

  • Student (non-presenting): $50 

  • Non-student: $250 

Registration fees include accommodation (for the nights of February 14 and 15), meals for the duration of the workshop and the field trip. We acknowledge the generous support of NIWA and Antarctica New Zealand, which has allowed us to keep registration costs to a minimum.
