VANL-CARFAC is seeking applications from artists and arts professionals who wish to be considered for our newly created Jury Pool. Our goal is to create a diverse and qualified group of jurors who best represent our community of artists, and are able to make unbiased and well-informed programming decisions. A non-exhaustive list of programming that will require Jury Members in 2024 includes:
Artists, curators, gallery workers, writers, and anyone with relevant experience or expertise in arts programming and selection committees are encouraged to apply. We also encourage applications from individuals with experience working with community arts programming, tourism and regional development, volunteering with non-profit organizations, or any other experience you feel is relevant to jurying a variety of arts-related programming.
We aim to accurately reflect the diversity of the various arts communities that we serve. We strongly encourage applications from artists who are members of marginalized and/or underserved/underrepresented communities, especially individuals who identify with: First Nations, Mi’kmaq, Metis, Innu or Inuit, or people of colour; diverse gender and sexual identities (including LGBTQ2+); people living with dis/ability, etc. We encourage applicants from all across Newfoundland and Labrador, and aim to have diverse regional representation within our juror and programming selections.
Jury members will receive fees in accordance with the CARFAC-RAAV Minimum Recommended Fee Schedule.
Applicants must be a member of VANL-CARFAC, or can choose to become a member at the time of submission.
Although you may be selected to be a part of our Jury Pool, this does not guarantee your selection for a Jury Committee in the 2024 programming year. We will keep your profile on retainer and hope to call for your involvement in the future.
