Save Carss Park Pool and Todd Park
MAKE THE PLEDGE TO SAVE CARSS PARK POOL AND TODD PARK
Georges River Council is planning to demolish Carss Park Pool (Kogarah War Memorial Pool) and build a regional aquatic centre which will destroy Todd Park.
These plans must be stopped because:
• The pool and park belong to the community. Our local facilities should not be destroyed to make way for a regional centre that will benefit greater Sydney.
• Carss Park Pool is part of our local history and must be preserved. It is listed as a War Memorial and was the training ground of 17 World Champions, including Olympic Champion Michelle Ford and record-breaking marathon swimmer Susie Maroney.
• Todd Park is irreplaceable parkland connected to Carss Bush Park. Its green space, bike track and sporting fields are used and loved by many locals, and it is the home of the Kogarah Cougars Junior Rugby League Football Club.
MAKE THE PLEDGE TO SAVE OUR POOL AND PARK!
I pledge my support for the rebuilding of the 50m Carss Park Pool on the existing site at Carss Park and the preservation of the parklands and playing fields at Todd Park.
I pledge my opposition to the demolition of Carss Park Pool and the destruction of Todd Park.
