Join the Mālama Learning Center as we strive to heal the land and sea through restoration efforts in Leeward O'ahu as a part of our Ola Nā Kini program! We will be hosting monthly community workdays that span mauka to makai every second Saturday of the month rotating between 2 sites - Pālehua and Nānākuli Wetland (Zablan's).
UPDATE AS OF June 29,2021:
As the COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving, so are these workdays. Since we moved to Tier 4, we will now have a total of about 25 people per workday all working from 9am-12pm. Mahalo for your understanding and flexibility!
2021 Workday Schedule
October 9 - Zablan's

December 11 - Zablan's
During these workdays, you will learn about the historical, cultural, and environmental benefits of native species followed by hana (work) consisting of native outplanting, removal of invasive species and debris, watering, and site preparation for future plantings.
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this form. We will select volunteers based on their interest, availability, and ability to follow COVID-19 safety protocols (e.g., mask wearing and physical distancing), which will be fully enforced. To minimize risk, priority will be given to residents from single households coming as a group. Children must be at least 10 years of age.
Volunteers will be accepted on a rolling basis. You will be notified by a follow up email, upon which, you will confirm your participation or the slot will be given to another party. If for some reason, you need to cancel, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled workday.
Mahalo nui loa for your interest and we look forward to seeing you at one of our workdays!
