Greetings, prospective Robodox member!

Thank you for your interest in the GHCHS Robotics Team, the Robodox, for the 2024-2025 school year. We are accepting applications until Friday, April 19th, 2024 (11:59 PM) for the Class of '26 & Class of '27 ONLY. We do not accept rising seniors (which would be current juniors).

In robotics, we develop skills in various fields of engineering (programming, computer-aided design, machining, electronics, and pneumatics). Most of our knowledge is passed on by students; however, we have professional engineers as mentors who dedicate their time to guiding the team.

Not only are we technically focused, but we also provide the opportunity for learning management and business. You have the chance to develop critical teamwork and leadership skills, as the team is completely student-led. There is a lot of work behind the scenes of the team, which includes event planning, outreach to the community, financial management, and marketing. You also have the chance to only join the Business subteam, in which you will not be assigned a technical division.

After completing this application, we may contact you to arrange an online interview. All applicants will hear back on the status of their application on or before Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.

Robotics is an academic team operating within two class periods. During a school year, we meet (mandatory) during 6th and 7th periods on Monday and Wednesday, while Thursdays are only for 6th period. During our 6 week build season at the beginning of the Spring Semester, we extend our mandatory meetings until 6 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and also add Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM. Fridays are optional meeting days but highly recommended. Although these are optional days, we expect our applicants to have the dedication and passion to come in during non-mandatory times.

As a result, applicants should not expect to participate in a sport, ASB, or Academic Decathlon while on the robotics team.

This is the official application to the Granada Hills Charter High School Robotics Team, the Robodox. All applications are handled with discretion by GHC faculty members (Team Coaches) and team president/s. All documents regarding transcripts or other sensitive information are only handled by the coaches of the robotics team.
