You can build someone up or break someone down with just a word. All of us have the power to change the words we use when we write and when we speak about those with addiction.

Join St. Mary's Goes Purple and pledge to describe addiction as a treatable disease and use empowering language such as a person with substance use disorder instead of using words that hurt like "addict" or "junkie".
