AWANA Registration
Dear Parents and Servants,

Last year's AWANA was a wonderful team effort! Thank you for your faithfulness and commitment to training children in righteousness! We are all looking forward to another great year learning God's Word in AWANA!

AWANA is a Bible memorization and discipleship program that is committed to advancing a child's relationship with Christ by being centered on God's Word. It runs September-May. Berean Community Church offers AWANA for ages 3 through 12th grade (10th-12th grade are by arrangement and involve serving as a helper in the AWANA program.).

We will only be registering children for in-person AWANA. If your child is sick, there will be a way for them to call-in their verses during the week that they are sick.

We ask that the child's parent or designated adult caregiver stay during the AWANA program. BCC offers weekly Wednesday Bible Study and Prayer Meeting @ 6:30 pm for adults and teens.

Cost: $15 per registered child of Berean's / $25 if you are from another church. (The church subsidizes the cost of the program, which is closer to $60/child.) Payment is due by cash or check on your child's first night of AWANA. (Please speak to Tim Venable if you have a financial hardship. We don't want your child to miss out!)

Sickness Guidelines
     1. A child must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to the AWANA program.
     2. Sickness covers the following but is not limited to: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, persistent cough, or any obvious contagious condition such as head lice or pink eye.
     3. We ask that with any undiagnosed sickness that you err on the side of caution for your involvement and your family's involvement.
     4. If a child/family stays home due to sickness, we welcome all clubbers in your family to call in so that they continue their progress.

AWANA is a focused discipleship program.
     1. Please commit to helping your child through the AWANA book sections and Scripture memorization.
     2. AWANA offers weekly opportunities to earn points and awards through physical and spiritual disciplines such as: 1) being on time, 2) bringing your Bible, 3) bringing a friend 4) wearing your AWANA vest or t-Shirt, 5) memorizing Bible verses, and 6) completing handbook assignments.
     3. BCC AWANA servants are committed to helping you make your child wise unto salvation and seeing children grow to love and obey the Lord.
     4. Parent and child diligence is rewarded with AWANA dollars to spend at a Christmas and Spring store.

In order to promote unity:
     1. Clubbers are required to wear their AWANA vest or t-shirt to each AWANA meeting.
     2. We order new t-shirts or vests when a child moves between programs or if they outgrow a current shirt.
Please make sure to select an accurate size on the registration form.

In order to minimize distractions:
     1. BCC asks families to be on time (signed in and seated by 6:30 PM), which earns clubbers an extra point.
     2. BCC asks children not to use cell phones or other personal electronics while participating in the evening's program. If a child does use personal electronics for non-emergency purposes, we reserve the right to confiscate them and return them to a parent at the end of the night.

Opening Night of AWANA:
     1. There will be tables in the foyer to sign in children. Each table will have a different age group. After signing your child in, escort them to their group's meeting room. Check-in time is from 6:15-6:30 p.m. Children must be in place before/at 6:30 p.m.
     2. After sign-in, your child will stay with their leaders through out the evening.
     3. Please return to the sanctuary at 7:45 p.m. There will be brief awards and then dismissal. No child will be released from their AWANA group without a parent/guardian signing them out.

This year's week-by-week calendar is available at the following link. It includes information about what sections to complete each week, cancellations, and special nights where clubbers can earn extra points. However, by registering your child, you assume the risks inherent with your child's participation and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Berean Community Church and all of its employees, volunteers, and any other affiliated parties.

Questions may be directed to Tim Venable at timothy@bereancommunitychurch.com or (302) 265-9629.

***TO BETTER SERVE OUR CLUBBERS, WE WILL NOT HAVE WALK-UP REGISTRATION. You must register in advance. If your child is not registered by Wednesday, August 31, we will ask them to wait until AWANA starts so that they can be placed in a group.***
