How did you hear about the Residency?
Discipline(s)? (What do you like to do/create)?
SECTION 1: Of the head and heart

Following are some overarching goals of the Residency on the Farm:
·      Create an open and inviting space that fosters individual and collaborative artistic expression
·      Get a lot of work done
·      Encourage conversation, thought and action
·      Be kind, supportive and honest
·      Strive for excellence and innovation
·      Engage with, respect, and enjoy really beautiful places
·      Have fun. Otherwise, why would we do this?
1. What do you think about those goals? (Write a word or several.)
2. What would you like to use time on the Farm to do?
3. You will be asked to give a 15 minute craft talk to the group. What is something you might discuss? Feel free to list more than one idea if you’re brainstorming.
4. How do you feel about the great outdoors and what is your level of comfort in it?
5. Have you ever collaborated with other artists? Talk to us about collaborating with other artists.
6. Participants will be asked to get to know each other’s work a little before the Residency. Will that be a problem?
7. We ask every applicant to share a brief artists statement and examples of their work. You can cut and paste links in below and/or email documents to welcome@residencyonthefarm.org
SECTION 2: Of the physical reality
8. Diet/allergies: Do you have a special diet of any kind? Any food allergies? Any serious allergies to animals or other things that could be found on a farm? (You don’t need to give details here, but please let us know if we should talk with you about possible concerns.)
9. Is there anything that you will need/would like, beyond time and space, to be able to do your work? Welding torch? Mirrors? Loom?
10. Do you have any special needs that we can try to accommodate? (You don’t need to give details here, but please let us know if we should talk with you about accessibility.)
11. We ask residents to help out a little in the form of washing dishes. We ask that everyone wash their own breakfast and lunch dishes and then join a team to do dinner dishes a few nights of the Residency. OK?
12. All residencies are partially subsidized. That being said, the basic cost of the Residency is $330. Take a look at the "Sleeping Accommodations" section in this More Information document. Based on your needs and the accommodation prices, what are your sleeping preferences? Ask us if you have more questions about this.
13. Participants will be responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from the Residency. Should you need to leave early for any reason, you will also be responsible for those travel arrangements. Will this be a problem?
14. COVID: In accordance with our intention of creating safe spaces to learn and create, residents may be asked to comply with COVID safety protocols such as (but not limited to) testing before the event, indoor masking, and antigen testing during the residency. We will ask all residents to be vaccinated and if participants become ill during the Residency, we will ask that they leave to protect other participants and everyone involved in making the Residency happen. As the global and local situation continues to shift, we will ask for cooperation from residents, understanding that our primary goal is to ensure the safety of artists and everyone involved in the Residency. Will complying with any COVID protocols be a problem for you?
14. Are there any artists you think we should invite to apply? Please provide their name and contact info.
15. Is there anything else you would like us to know?
Artist's statement and work samples! If you did not provide links above, please don’t forget to email them to welcome@residencyonthefarm.org by April 5, 2024.
We are looking forward to learning all about you. We will get back to you shortly.
Thank you!!!!
