17th edition: from the 9th of November to the 1st of December 2024
APPLICATION FORM: DEADLINE is July, the 15th, 2024GENERAL CONDITIONS:
I. Mi Primer Festival is an International film festival for children organized by
Asociación Cultural MODIband, registered in C/ Camps i Fabrés, 3-11, 2ª, 8ª, 08006, Barcelona, with VAT number G-62694013.
II. El Meu Primer Festival’s 15th edition will take place in Barcelona from the 9
th of November to the 1st of December 2024.
III. The
international competition will include
one programme of long feature films, with a maximum of 8 titles.IV. Only works released as
from 2022, and not screened in Barcelona movie theatres, will be accepted.
V. The works shall be
animation or feature short films, specifically produced for young audience from 3 to 10 years old.
VI. If there are dialogues in languages that are not English, French, Spanish or Catalan, participants will send the text translated into English. If the movie doesn’t count on a distribution in Spain, it will be the festival’s responsibility to subtitle or dub the film. If the movie does count on a distribution company for the Spanish territory, screening copy will be required already dubbed at least into Spanish and, if possible, also in Catalan.
VII. The following
formats will be accepted for competition:
DCP, HD files o Blu-rays.
VIII. All participants will have to
fill in the Application Form (below), provide
2 stills of the film with a minimum resolution of 1500 pixels (9cm - 300 dpi), together with a
screener of the work,
through an online screening system (like Vimeo). We do NOT accept links to download films screeners from FTP servers or downloading websites.
IX. Copies of the works must be delivered by
15th of July 2024. All selected works will receive a notification before the
first week of September 2024. The final decision taken by the jury concerning the winning works will be communicated in
December 2024.
X.
Copies to be used for the screenings at the festival have to be sent in the
best quality format available, either physically in DCP or Blu Ray, or through an online downloading system, in DCP or ProRes. Preferably, the film should have a minimum resolution in HD of 1920 x 1080 pixels, in a progressive (not interlaced) format.
These screening copies should be sent by 20th of September 2024. Copies send from abroad will have to indicate clearly on the parcel: NO COMMERCIAL VALUE. OF CULTURAL INTEREST, and be sent to:

XI. Expenses related to the transport of the films and promotional materials from the country of origin to Barcelona, Spain, will be covered by the participant. Expenses relating to the transport to the country of origin, if required, are covered by the festival.
XII. Competing films will be assessed by our festival assistants, who will express their assessment at the end of the screening with voting papers. The award for Best Long Feature Film will be given to the movie better assessed by the public.
XIII. The Festival Awards for this Long Feature Films competing section will be the following:
Jury Award to the best Long Feature Film – 4000 €
Public Award to the best Long Feature Film – 1000 €
XIV. The author, producer or distributor who inscribes his film declares to be the owner, to have acquired, or to make a legitimate use, of all the contents of the film and its copyright. The festival is not responsible for any claim resulting from copyright claim for the public display of films containing protected material.
XV. The applicant gives consent to the use of parts of the competing films as part of the festival’s promotion in all its media.
XVI. By submitting an application to the festival, participants express their consent with the festival rules.
