DUPNA NextGen Scholarship Application for Parliament of the World's Religions
Dances of Universal Peace North America is excited to announce scholarship support for attendance at the Parliament of the World's Religions for Next Generation members of our Dance family between the ages of 18 to 40's. This scholarship is made possible through a generous grant from Oneness Project. Our hope is that by attending this extraordinary interfaith gathering, NextGen dancers and leaders will deepen their spiritual practice, feel inspired to nurture connections and collaborations with one another and deepen their commitment to Murshid SAM's vision of realizing world peace through the Dances of Universal Peace.

DUPNA affirms that nurturing the spiritual development of Next Gen dancers and leaders and providing opportunities for leadership, connection and collaboration is vitally important to the sustainability and resilience of our beloved tradition. Our intention is to make financial support available to those with a passion for sharing the Universal message of the Dances with one another, other communities of faith and the world.

DUPNA will support ten attendees between the ages of 18 to 40's with a commitment of a pre-paid registration fee (valued at $250) and an additional stipend of up to $560 for travel/lodging. Recipients who cancel their attendance and participation will be responsible for reimbursing DUPNA for the amount of travel/lodging stipend if they have already received those funds.  Please note that additional fund-raising may be necessary to assist with lodging/travel costs. 

For those who apply/receive a scholarship, we additionally request one letter of support. You may ask a Dance leader/mentor, dancer, Sufi Guide or someone who has supported you on your path. 

As a condition of receiving support, we also request that you participate in helping to focalize a Next Generation DUP session at the Parliament, including 3 virtual planning sessions in May, June, and July leading up to the event AND serve on a Next Generation committee after the Parliament for a minimum of two years attending 6 virtual meetings per year with the hope of co-creating two NextGen Councils and a NextGen gathering.

Complete applications (GoogleForm plus letter of support) are due by March 15th (or let us know you intend to apply shortly) and will be reviewed by the DUPNA Next Generation Committee and recipients will be notified by email and phone call by April 15, 2023.
