Empire and Imperialism & Pax Romana
Hey guys! So I want to make sure this is clear to everyone.

First of all, if you are going on the trip tomorrow, you are REQUIRED to complete the online extra credit assignment tonight.

LINK FOR MUSEUM EXTRA CREDIT: https://forms.gle/iWwZAWyF6R9vm3Ds9

Therefore, for this homework here (the one you are on right now), those who are going on the trip are allowed an extra day to complete it. So for them it is due Friday. For everyone else, this homework (the one you are on right now) is due Thursday. If you are not going on the trip, you can do the Museum extra credit any time before NEXT Friday for credit.

Now, let's get to the homework at hand...

First of all, please DO NOT RUSH THIS and actually make sure you read carefully and understand everything. I am planning to do another 5 question plickers quiz on this content, and of course it will also come up on your IA and Unit Tests.

The first thing you will do is finish filling in the notes from class today. They are the ones titled "Imperialism and Empire". They look like this: https://mrcaseyhistory.files.wordpress.com/2019/12/imperialism-and-empire-notes.pdf

I have the PowerPoint uploaded for you, and I included some comments so you can feel like I'm right there with you! You will be quizzed on it, and there are some questions below related to it, so make sure you read for understanding while you fill in blanks. Here is the link to the PowerPoint: https://mrcaseyhistory.files.wordpress.com/2019/12/imperialism-and-empire.pdf

Finally, I am giving you some questions below to make sure you are following the notes and to point out a couple of new things to link it all together. Tomorrow in class, I will leave some work for you to further explore different aspects of these stories.

Pax Romana
The period from the beginning of Augustus’s reign in 27 BC until the death of the last of the Good Emperors in AD 180 is often called the Pax Romana—the Roman Peace. Several essential traits, such as stable government, a strong legal system, widespread trade, and, most importantly, PEACE characterized this long era. During the Pax Romana the smooth working of the imperial government was seldom interrupted by war or invasion.
