Join the Riverglades community as a dedicated volunteer! We offer a wide range of opportunities to suit your availability and interests, whether you'd like to become a committed committee member or contribute a few hours as a shift volunteer.

Volunteers needed: *

BEAUTIFICATION. Year-round. Enhance our school's appearance and keep our grounds blooming. Volunteers needed to help with landscaping, weeding and planting. No experience required.

BINGO NIGHT. January 31. A night of bingo fun for Riverglades families and a chance to mingle with your friends! Volunteers are needed for setup, check-in, food distribution, and cleanup.

BOOK FAIR. April 22-26. We partner with Scholastic to set up Fall and Spring Book Fairs, keeping our students' love for reading alive. Volunteers needed to set up, clean-up and work the event.

BOX TOPS. Year-round. Box tops of qualifying products submitted by students will raise money for the school. Volunteers will assist with prize distribution throughout the year.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH. Year-round. Give back to the community by working with local charities and our Title I sister school. Volunteers needed to help with the Halloween candy drive, Thanksgiving Food Drive, holiday toy drive, and more..

CREATIVE ARTS NIGHT. May 17. Our biggest admission-free event of the year. Help transform the school's hallways into a student art gallery showcase, assist with the Talent Show, coordinate the Raffle Baskets, and more! Volunteers are needed for various tasks leading up to and during the event.

DUAL LANGUAGE. Year-round. A new committee dedicated to highlighting the Dual Language Program at Riverglades Elementary through events, such as an upcoming Latin Night. Volunteers needed to develop event ideas, and assist with event setup and cleanup.

FAMILY EVENTS. A brand-new committee to design and coordinate new admission-free family events. Possibilities include a science/magic show, career fair, father/daughter dance, grandparent breakfast, or financial literacy event.

ICE CREAM SALES. Year-round, weekday mornings. Sell ice cream during lunch to students. Volunteers will set up ice cream cart and collect money.

LUNCHTIME HELPERS. Year-round, weekday mornings. A quick and enjoyable way to make a difference in the kids' day. Volunteers will help open packages and provide assistance, making lunchtime a breeze for the kids.

MATH NIGHT. February 7. Students "shop" for items at Publix using math skills. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate the event.

MEET THE MASTERS. Year-round. Volunteers will engage children with the world of art by preparing and presenting art history lessons, and facilitating a related art project. No teaching or art experience required. Training and curriculum provided.

MEMBERSHIP. Year-round. Promote PTA memberships to parents, teachers, and staff. Volunteers needed to sell memberships at school events, keep track of members, and update the database.

POPCORN HELPERS. Year-round, weekday mornings. Popcorn is given to students that exemplify school values during lunchtime. Volunteers will make popcorn with our carnival style popper and distribute it to students.

SCHOOL PICTURES. February 8-9 and April 4-5. Help capture school memories by assisting with Class Pictures and Spring Portraits. Volunteers will guide students into lines, manage distribution of student cards, and call teachers to pictures at their assigned time.
