DEVELOPMENTAL PRESCHOOL PEER -Part Day AM or PM Sessions, Monday -Thursday, , located at Artondale, Purdy, Vaughn. In order to support the development of preschool children with special needs, the program recruits typically developing peers to serve as models of age-appropriate skills and to provide opportunities for socialization. Transportation not available for students enrolled as peers in the preschool program
Developmental Preschool Peer Eligibility Requirements
- Children 3.5 to 5 years old (3.5 years old by Aug 31st, & not yet 5 by Aug 31st)
- Reside within the Peninsula School District boundaries
- Demonstrates strong communication and social skills to serve as a peer model in a Special Education Preschool setting
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN -Full Day Monday-Friday, Transportation available, located at Evergreen, Harbor Heights, Discovery, Voyager and Minter Creek
TK Eligibility requirements:
- Children who turn five 5 years old between September 1, and August 31, the year prior to K
- Have not had access or participated in early learning experiences prior to Kindergarten
- Reside within the Peninsula School District boundaries
- Children who have an identified need through TK screening process
Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) - Pre-kindergarten program that prepares 3- and 4-year-old children for success in school and life. Full Day Monday -Thursday, Transportation available, located at Artondale, Evergreen, Vaughn
ECEAP Eligibility Requirements,
- Children 3-5 years old (3 years old by Aug 31st, & not yet 5 by Aug 31st)
- Income based requirements. Families are considered income eligible if they are at or below 36% of the State median income. (The state median income is based on income and family size to view the income eligibility levels for ECEAP please click here)
- A family may be over income and still qualify if there are significant needs shown by the family
- Children in Foster Care/Kinship Care
- TANF, SSI, SNAP, or WIC recipients
- Families experiencing homelessness
- Children with a disability or IEP that do not qualify for Developmental Preschool
