Throughout 2024, the Utah Film Commission is celebrating 100
years of being America’s Film Set. Cedar
City is the Birthplace of Film in Utah and is
commemorating the occasion with a 48 Hour Film Shootout as a kick off event for
the celebration. Filmmakers will be
prompted to create a short film within a 48-hour period inspired by a historically significant film shot in Utah.
$2,000 in cash prizes, plus public film screening for the
top five films.
Film Shootout: January 26-28th, 2024
Film Screening and Awards: February 3rd at 6 pm
at the Cedars Hotel
Filmmakers must register here by January 23, 2024
The Shootout begins on January 26, 2024 and ends at 11:59 pm on January 28th, 2024. Registered teams will receive a prompt at midnight on the 26th with the details for key items that must be included in their submission. The 48-hour clock starts when you receive the festival prompt.
