Cedar City 48-hour Shootout Film Competition

Throughout 2024, the Utah Film Commission is celebrating 100 years of being America’s Film Set.  Cedar City is the Birthplace of Film in Utah and  is commemorating the occasion with a 48 Hour Film Shootout as a kick off event for the celebration.  Filmmakers will be prompted to create a short film within a 48-hour period inspired by a historically significant film shot in Utah.   

$2,000 in cash prizes, plus public film screening for the top five films.

Film Shootout: January 26-28th, 2024

Film Screening and Awards: February 3rd at 6 pm at the Cedars Hotel

Filmmakers must register here by January 23, 2024

The Shootout begins on January 26, 2024 and ends at 11:59 pm on January 28th, 2024.  Registered teams will receive a prompt at midnight on the 26th with the details for key items that must be included in their submission. The 48-hour clock starts when you receive the festival prompt.
