Young Men at the Helm: August 16th--August 18th pick up and drop off in Poughkeepsie, camping in Cold Spring and Beacon.
What are we doing? We will be involved in a wide range of activities as individuals and in groups, lead by our crew, Onboard Program Coordinators and Captain. Activities include sail raising, fishing with a trawl net, testing and examining water quality, steering and navigating the river aboard the sloop, learning sailors’ arts, games, and relaxing on the river. Several guest speakers may be talking about community leadership, “green” careers, and the limitless opportunities open to young people today.
Who?This program is open to 14-18 year olds.
Young Women at the Helm is specifically for female identifying students, Young Men at the Helm for male identifying students, and Queerwater for LGBTQ+ identifying students.
