The Policy & Structure Collaboration Committee, along with the Volunteer Resource Committee, is planning a first-ever Volunteer Day. We intend to reach both potential
volunteers as well as members currently doing WSO service. We are inviting you to participate in providing the program.
The program has two main components. In the first part, attendees will be offered the experience, strength, and hope of some seasoned volunteers as they recount the highlights
of their WSO service journey. It's basically sharing your story. The format will be a panel discussion with 5 participants, and an emcee to steer the conversation. The purpose is to offer relatable examples of how ACA members found their niche within WSO.
After the panel presentation, we will go into breakout rooms, for about fifteen minutes, where attendees may ask questions of the panelists, filling in some of the details of their work at WSO. The panelists will each have help from a moderator, who will hold space in the Zoom room by asking for questions, lowering hands, muting those who unknowingly have their microphones on, perhaps even offering a question for the speaker.
The second part of the program will feature 4 committees of WSO. Representatives of the committees will give a general overview of their work and how they accomplish their goals. Again, this part of the program will be in a discussion format led by an emcee. After the committee presentations, we will again go into breakout rooms for more question and answers.
We are inviting WSO members to either talk about their journey in service, or to help facilitate the Volunteer Day experience by being of service as either a moderator or greeter. Please fill out the questionnaire if you are willing to participate.
