Students do not need to know how to play an instrument to be in band. We will teach them! Once the student chooses 3 different instruments as their top 3 choices, we will place them in the best class based on their submission. Auditions will be held before the beginning of the school year (August). We will give you plenty of time to find and purchase an instrument. PLEASE do not purchase an instrument until we give the OK. There are several music companies that offer great rent to own plans that are extremely affordable. We will give you access to these companies so you know you are getting a quality instrument or supplies. If your child is interested in percussion, it must be listed as a first choice. It is still required for percussion students to pick a second and third choice. All students wanting to play percussion must pass and audition and be selected. The percussion class is limited to 6 students. Percussion students will be required to purchase a practice marimba. *
