C.A.R.E.S. Coach Application 
We are looking for individuals to walk alongside our members and support them in reaching life goals that will lead them to success in their personal and professional lives. Blessings to Share Foundation (BTSF) focuses on designing, developing, and managing community-based programs to fill the gaps in services for neurodiverse adults that are transitioning out of High School or College. One of BTSF’s programs is the C.A.R.E.S. Coaching program. The C.A.R.E.S. Coaching program provides moderate to high functioning individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) a trained and/or experienced professional who supports and advocates for the individual on their journey towards independence and self-actualization. Members in the C.A.R.E.S. programs are typically undergoing transition, whether from high school to college, trades, workforce, or from post-secondary education to the workforce, etc.

This job is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Part-time, 5-10 hours a week.

$14-$17 per hour

Foundational Requirements:

  • Individuals with a huge heart, temperament, and initiative for helping improve the lives of adults with intellectual developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder. 
  • Flexible, reliable, and personable self-starter with a passion for serving the I/DD, Neurodiverse communities 
Ideal Candidates: 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (SPED), Occupational Therapy (OT), Social Work, Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), OT Associates, or Behavior Therapist, etc. 
  • Currently has or had experience as a licensed Social Worker, SLP, OT, etc. 
  • Graduate Social Work, OT, SLP, SPED practicum students
  • Experience in working with people who live with disabilities. Minimum of a High School Diploma. Must have successful experience in working with the neurodiverse/disability population as a peer tutor, mentor, caregiver, job coach, paraprofessional OR other comparable experience. 
Job Description:
  • Flexible times and location. 
  • Facilitate one-on-one check-ins with a cohort of about 5-8 C.A.R.E.S. members once a week. (This can be in person or over the phone.) Based on coach and member availability. 
  • Plan and conduct social events once a week in the evening hours. (Thursday nights from 5:30pm-7:30pm.) 
  • Assist Directors and C.A.R.E.S. Assistants in refinement of programming and collect feedback from C.A.R.E.S. Members. 
  • Guide C.A.R.E.S. Members in identifying their individual goals and path toward independence. 
  • Treat your C.A.R.E.S. coaching clients with courtesy, respect, and dignity. 
  • Research coaching strategies and activities to effectively engage and equip your cohort with tools for goal development and achievement.  
  • Recommend/connect cohort with referrals to well-being and vocational resources as needed. 
  • Create an Individual Life Plan (“ILP”) with your C.A.R.E.S. Member to include key activities, milestones, and deliverables, if any. 
  • Serve as an accountability resource for each member in working toward their ILP's
  • Advocate for the C.A.R.E.S. Members in your respective cohort group. 
  • Work with various inputs (family members, employers (if appropriate), and other qualified influencers in the C.A.R.E.S. Member’s life to support them in their journey to self-actualization (whatever this looks like— job, independent living, etc.).
