Are you a champion for trails, access, and making sure people feel included and are safe while enjoying Turkey Mtn? Then we’d like to invite you to join us!

Announcing the new Turkey Trail Team (TTT) Program!  Are you wanting to give back to the local trail community?  With your volunteerism, you can help us make keep Turkey Mtn a world-class greenspace for hiking trails, cycling, and active transportation! After our construction crews are finished building the trails, it’s our turn to maintain the quality and help prolong the life of our new pathways.

Types of Participation

On-the-ground eyes and ears for trail issues.

Route checking and helping newcomers find their way.

Trail maintenance/building on major work days lead by the Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition.

Trail status/reporting.

Hike/Ride leaders.

Planning committee support for new routes or future maintenance plans.

Benefits include:

- volunteer freebies, get-to-gethers like BBQs

- the ability to have hands-on input in future plans for Turkey Mtn.

Expectations:

At least once quarterly, we’d ask you to wear your TTT and check trails for maintenance issues, fix any small issues (branch in path, light pruning, rake berms, clogged drains). This can be part of your regular hike/bike/run visit to Turkey. Major work and trail repair days will be lead by the Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition.

Once we get a few sign-ups, we’ll hold a few informational meetings where a more formal sign-up will occur.
