About the Program : Social Capital Ambassadors are locals who know people and like to make connections. They believe in the creative process of making a movie and understand it truly takes a village. The Social Capital Ambassadors (SCA's) will play many roles during the making of a movie. They might help find housing, locations, or extras. They might fill in as a background actor and have a cameo in the film. The crew might need help finding a hard-to-find prop: such as a red pick-up truck, a deck of Pokemon cards, a flock of chickens. They might bake the cast and crew muffins and bring coffee for a night shoot. They might know a restaurant or caterer that wants to donate a meal. The options are endless.
Benefits to You : As an SCA you are able to get experience being on a film set, build your
network, contribute to an exciting creative project, and get feel good
feelings. You will meet, artists, filmmakers, actors, and visiting scholars. You will have the opportunity to participate in
SCA-only lunches with the cast & crew. Also, you'll be invited to the first reading of the script, exclusive film screenings,
and will become an honorary member of the Local Cinema Studios family.
Requirements :
- Have a passionate interest in the arts, filmmaking, acting, and/or community-building
- Have an enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things and collaborate on a large-scale project
- Be willing and able to volunteer and and support the 2024 Get On Set Initiative with resources, connections, and positivity
