Hello! I'm Jake Alrich -- known as Mr. Alrich to many in the Fairfield County area -- and I am a veteran actor, singer, and arts teacher who has facilitated drama/improv workshops for over two decades.
I am thrilled to be partnering with the Town Players of New Canaan to offer "Saturday Morning Improv Jam," weekly from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Powerhouse Theater! Players in these weekly workshops will engage with acting exercises, improvisation activities, and traditional drama games designed to release creative energy, unlock the intuitive, and allow everyone to play joyfully in a safe and supportive environment.
Our workshops occur in a relaxed atmosphere with no expectation of performance, though many previous sessions have ended with student-driven sharing opportunities. Players hail from a variety of area schools, affording the opportunity to connect with new friends through play! These workshops are designed for children of all ages to play together but are most appropriate for ages 9-14. (Children outside this range will be considered on an individual basis.)
