If your child commits to doing our combined show choir this year, they are committing to an amazing vocal and performance experience with kids across our district that all love to sing and perform. Students in grades 5-8 may either sign up to participate in the choir itself or students in grades 7-8 may sign up to play their instrument in the pit band that will accompany the show choir.
It will be expected that all participating students practice their voice parts and their choreography at home in between rehearsals. I will provide students with vocal tracks to sing with and with videos of choreography. Pit members will be provided with music and tracks to listen to by the pit director.
Friday rehearsals are MANDATORY for all students. We understand that some students will also be involved with sports, so if they have a game, they will be excused from Monday practices. Otherwise it is expected that all members of the combined show choir are at BOTH Monday and Friday rehearsals.
Please email me if your child will miss rehearsal due to illness so that I can excuse them. All students are vital and just as important as the next in show choir, so if a student has 4 or more unexcused absences, I will need to meet with that student and their parents to discuss whether they can participate in performances.
Students who participate in show choir MUST participate in their school chorus program, if it is offered at their school. This also goes for pit members- they must participate in their school band program to be a participate in the show choir pit.

All dates that have question marks will be ironed out ASAP. Most of those are days that there is no school, but I would like to hold rehearsal if possible, but a lot will depend on parent transportation. More info to follow when things get started.
