This competition has been given 'national status' from British Powerlifting for the purpose of records and rankings. You must be a member of
British Powerlifting to lift at this championship.
Any athlete wishing to compete at the Manchester Open 2024 must have achieved a minimum of 75 GLP for Classic and Equipped Full Power and 70 GLP for Equipped Bench at a British Powerlifting sanctioned competition since the Manchester Open 2023 and no later than 24/05/2024.
The highest ranked athletes, on GLP, will be invited to confirm their entries from 24/05/2024 (10 weeks out), with any remaining places allocated to the next athlete on GLP up to 05/07/2024 (4 weeks out).

If you wish to withdraw your qualification submission, please email us at gbpfnw@gmail.com. This is strongly encouraged if you no longer wish to lift as a courtesy to your fellow lifters.
Allocation
Places will be allocated* as follows:
- Classic Men: Top 70
- Classic Women: Top 70
- Equipped full power: Top 25
- Equipped bench only: Top 10
*Adjustments regarding capacity will be made at the organiser's discretion, if necessary.
Reigning Champions
The overall champions from 2023, Aquinn Onuoha, Ade Omisakin and Dean Bowring, will be automatically entered should they wish to defend their title.
Entry Process Timeline
02/01/2024 | Athletes may submit their GLP for ranking (and update if desired, simply submit a further form)
23/05/2024 | Submission list closes
24/05/2024 | Athletes will be invited to confirm their entry within 7 days
31/05/2024 | Deadline to secure first round places with any remaining places allocated as / if they become available
05/07/2024 | The entry process will close and no changes to weight classes will be permitted
