Washington State Thespian Officer (STO) Application 2020-2021 - Troupe Director Form
Dear Troupe DIrector

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy theatre schedule to evaluate this student as a State Thespian Officer!  Your input is extremely valuable.

Here are some things to keep in mind about this applicant and the application process.  Being a State Thespian Officer is a huge responsibility.  These students need to be very reliable, flexible, and selfless.  They must be strong leaders and effective communicators.  They must be able to organize and balance their personal, school, and theatre lives.  Being able to travel is a huge aspect of being a STO.  This applicant needs to have their own transportation (either driving themselves or having someone drive them) to all parts of the state for various meetings and events.  Every troupe has students who step up and lead their troupe in productions, events, and activities.  The STOs are the students who go above and beyond the normal troupe leader.  Please consider whether this applicant is a strong leader on a troupe level or if this applicant's skills are at the state level.  We encourage all students to apply, but you are the adult who knows them the best and whether or not they will truly succeed at this position.  This form is NOT shared with the applicant, so we urge you to be as honest as possible in both positive or negative comments or ratings.  We are all educators and do not want to set students up to fail.

If you have any questions or concerns about the State Thespian Officer description or selection process or wish to elaborate on your recommendation outside of this form, feel free to contact Stewart Hawk (stewart.hawk@gmail.com) and he will be happy to assist you.

Thank you again for your time,
Washington Thespians Adult Executive Board
