You are warmly invited to the premiere of the full-dome planetarium film:

Rising Star: A South African Astronomy Journey.

The film will take you on a journey from our beginnings through the development of astronomy research in our country and introduce you to multi-wavelength and multi-messenger astronomy!

It will highlight the many remarkable facilities hosted in South Africa, including the Southern African Large Telescope and the most powerful radio telescope in the Southern Hemisphere, MeerKAT.

The show will open to the general public on 3 November.

All necessary COVID precautions will be followed, guests will be screened and required to wear masks during the event.

Current regulations preclude serving open food or drinks. Prepacked snacks and cooldrinks will be provided.
