Purpose of the Academic Anchor Program

Academic Anchors (peer tutors) provide a valuable service to the MHS community. Many students could benefit from extra help in a class, and often learn best by working with a peer. Simultaneously, you will be modeling effective study skills to the student. This is a leadership position that will help you build your interpersonal skills and will increase your comprehension of the subject area; often we learn best by teaching. In addition, serving in this role will be an admirable experience to put on job, college, and scholarship applications.
