Bring Your Own Educational Device: Parent Survey
Hello Robina families,
We have been eager to start using technology in our classrooms this year! Now that we have had a couple of weeks to settle in and sort things out, we need to figure out how many Chromebooks will be assigned to each classroom. In order to do this, we need to confirm whether or not your child has a device that will be brought to school on a daily basis. Please complete this form to let us know whether or not you are going to be participating in our Bring Your Own Educational Device (BYOED) program.
BYOED: What do I need to know?
BYOED means students bring their own devices to school for educational purposes. In the classroom, students will use devices responsibly, and only with the permission and direction of the teacher or other staff member. Students will bring their fully-charged device to school daily, and bring it home each day for charging and storage. Students are responsible for their own devices. Replacement, repair and any additional software or apps that the student desires is the responsibility of the student. Black Gold provides links to any software that they provide and that our classroom teachers will utilize. All students will use a Black Gold account for signing in and that provides protection for appropriate site access and usage.
Please note that in our Bring Your Own Educational Device projects, purchasing a new device is not mandatory - while we encourage students to bring devices they already own, you are not obligated to purchase a device for your child.
